These are not ordinary days...
Early this morning the work started, and yet still many are without electricity. An army which works with the tools of love, run on a different source of power in Christ, and so the work does not stop despite the obstacles. Pray for those both in our immediate team and numerous mission partners as we work together. Together in him we are stronger.
Pray especially for the availability of an overworked electrician to (safely) fix the heater for one of our most key team members and their family as they serve.
Give thanks too for many partners working from early hours to send good things out across the country and help those who are in desperate need.
We particularly pray today for those on the South Coast, and the thousands who are linked with aid needs who come under the sound of the gospel each day. LORD, protect those who minister, supply each day our daily bread, and help us live by the sustaining of your Word. Continue to show Christ through those who Pastor, lead, drive, counsel, bake, preach, teach, model and build even when there is no heat, electric or immediate encouragement other than in you.
Pray against discouragement for those who serve.
Give thanks for the beautiful things that emerge due to God's goodness in creation, even in its fallen state. Patron the sniffer dog is a decorated war hero of 4kg and 3 years. Such things remind us of the daily wonder of God in his provision, who can use the foolish things to shame those who think they are wise.
I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade on your right hand.
6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
8 The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.
